Morocco Multi Day Tours From Fes: Discover the Sahara, Imperial Cities & Northern Morocco

Morocco Multi Day Tours From Fes offer an excellent way to explore Morocco beyond a single city. Fes combines historic architecture, traditional crafts, local cuisine, and one of Morocco’s most remarkable medinas. From here, your journey can continue toward the Middle Atlas, Merzouga, Marrakech, Chefchaouen, or other destinations.

The official Moroccan National Tourist Office describes Fes as an imperial city with a long history and a medina recognized for its outstanding universal value.

Moreover, starting in Fes creates a natural route toward southern Morocco. You can travel through mountain landscapes before reaching the Sahara region. Therefore, Fes works particularly well for travelers who want culture, nature, and desert experiences in one itinerary.

Every traveler wants something a little different — that's exactly how we plan.

Tell us how much time you have, where you're starting from, and what draws you to Chefchaouen — the mountains, the photography, the quiet, the handicrafts, or simply a break from the bigger cities. We'll build a private itinerary around that, from your arrival to your final transfer.

Why Choose Morocco Multi Day Tours From Fes?

Morocco Multi Day Tours From Fes give you more flexibility than a short excursion. Instead of returning to Fes each evening, you can move between destinations and experience different regions.

A multi-day route may include Fes, Ifrane, the Middle Atlas, Midelt, the Ziz Valley, Merzouga, the Dades Valley, Ouarzazate, Ait Ben Haddou, and Marrakech.

Additionally, longer journeys allow you to avoid rushing between major attractions. You can spend more time exploring local areas, enjoying scenic viewpoints, and discovering Moroccan culture.

Tilila Travel currently offers multi-day routes from Fes, including journeys toward Merzouga and Marrakech. Its published itineraries include three-day and four-day desert routes.

Morocco Multi Day Tours From Fes for Different Travel Styles

Morocco Multi Day Tours From Fes can suit different travel interests. A private itinerary can focus on history, desert landscapes, photography, food, nature, or a balanced combination.

Travelers seeking culture can combine Fes with Meknes, Volubilis, Chefchaouen, and Rabat. Those interested in the desert can travel south toward Merzouga and Erg Chebbi.

Furthermore, travelers who want a broader Moroccan experience can continue from the Sahara toward Marrakech. This creates a practical one-way journey rather than returning to the starting point.

Morocco Multi Day Tours From Fes to Merzouga

One of the most popular routes from Fes heads south toward Merzouga. This journey crosses changing landscapes and provides a gradual transition from northern Morocco to the desert.

A typical route can pass through Ifrane and the Middle Atlas before reaching Midelt. The journey then continues toward the Ziz Valley and the Merzouga area.

The Moroccan National Tourist Office highlights Merzouga as a major desert destination, known for its dunes and distinctive landscapes.

Once you reach the desert region, you can enjoy the landscape at a relaxed pace. Depending on your itinerary, activities may include a guided desert experience, time around the dunes, and an overnight stay at a desert camp.

A Fes to Sahara Route With Scenic Stops

Morocco Multi Day Tours From Fes become even more rewarding when the journey includes meaningful stops. Instead of treating the road as simple transportation, you can explore the landscapes along the way.

Ifrane offers a striking change from the architecture of Fes. Midelt provides another useful stop before the route continues toward the Ziz Valley and southeastern Morocco.

As the landscape becomes increasingly arid, the scenery changes dramatically. Eventually, the dunes around Merzouga create one of the most recognizable desert landscapes in Morocco.

Morocco Multi Day Tours From Fes to Marrakech

Morocco Multi Day Tours From Fes can also continue from Merzouga toward Marrakech. This route is ideal for travelers who want to experience both the Sahara and the Red City without returning to Fes.

After the desert, the journey can continue through the Dades Valley and the dramatic landscapes of southern Morocco. Ouarzazate and Ait Ben Haddou can also form part of the route.

A longer itinerary gives you more time to appreciate the transition between desert, valleys, mountains, and historic settlements.

Tilila Travel currently lists a three-day desert journey from Fez to Marrakech and a four-day option through the Erg Chebbi dunes.

What You Can See on the Way to Marrakech

Depending on the selected itinerary, highlights may include:

  • Ifrane and the Middle Atlas
  • Midelt and surrounding mountain scenery
  • Ziz Valley
  • Merzouga and Erg Chebbi
  • Todra and Dades landscapes
  • Ouarzazate
  • Ait Ben Haddou
  • Marrakech

However, exact stops depend on the itinerary, season, road conditions, and available travel time.

Morocco Multi Day Tours From Fes to Chefchaouen

Not every journey from Fes needs to head south. Morocco Multi Day Tours From Fes can also explore northern Morocco, including the famous blue city of Chefchaouen.

Chefchaouen sits in the Rif Mountains and is known for its blue-painted streets and distinctive atmosphere. The official tourism office also highlights its medina, Kasbah, surrounding mountain paths, and nearby Akchour area.

A northern itinerary can combine Fes with Chefchaouen, Tangier, Tetouan, or Rabat. This option works particularly well for travelers who want architecture, mountain scenery, local crafts, and northern Moroccan culture.

Add Chefchaouen to Morocco Multi Day Tours From Fes

Chefchaouen is around 194 kilometers from Fes according to Morocco’s official tourism information.

Therefore, it can fit naturally into a broader northern itinerary. You could begin in Fes, spend time in Chefchaouen, and then continue toward Tangier or Rabat.

This route offers a different experience from a Sahara-focused journey. Instead of desert landscapes, the itinerary emphasizes mountain scenery, historic medinas, and northern Moroccan culture.

Morocco Multi Day Tours From Fes for a Complete Morocco Experience

For travelers with more time, Morocco Multi Day Tours From Fes can combine northern and southern destinations. A longer itinerary may connect Fes, Chefchaouen, the Sahara, Marrakech, and coastal destinations.

Such a route requires careful planning because Morocco covers a large and geographically diverse area. The goal should not be to visit as many places as possible. Instead, choose destinations that work naturally together.

For example, a 7–10 day itinerary can provide more breathing room than a very compressed schedule. Longer trips can also include additional nights in Fes, the desert, Marrakech, or other destinations.

The official Moroccan tourism office promotes broad routes that connect cities, mountains, desert areas, and coastal destinations across Morocco.

Choosing the Right Duration

The ideal length depends on your priorities.

3 days: A practical option for a Fes–Merzouga–Marrakech route.

4 days: Better for travelers who want additional time in the desert and shorter driving periods.

5–7 days: Useful for combining the Sahara with additional cultural or scenic destinations.

8–10+ days: Suitable for a broader Morocco itinerary covering Fes, Chefchaouen, the Sahara, Marrakech, and other regions.

Consequently, Morocco Multi Day Tours From Fes can range from focused desert journeys to comprehensive private circuits.

What to Consider Before Booking Morocco Multi Day Tours From Fes

Before selecting your itinerary, consider the following points.

First, decide where you want to finish. A one-way journey to Marrakech can save time if Marrakech is your next destination.

Next, consider how much driving you are comfortable with each day. Longer routes can cover significant distances, so a well-balanced schedule matters.

Also, think about accommodation. You may prefer traditional riads in cities and a desert camp during your Sahara stay.

Finally, clarify what your package includes. Ask about transportation, accommodation, meals, guides, activities, and any optional experiences.

These details help you compare itineraries accurately and avoid unexpected arrangements.

Private Morocco Multi Day Tours From Fes

Morocco Multi Day Tours From Fes can be organized as private journeys based on your preferred route. Private travel provides more flexibility around departure times, stops, accommodation preferences, and final destinations.

For example, you may want extra time in Fes before leaving for the desert. Alternatively, you may prefer a faster route to Merzouga and additional time in Marrakech.

Tilila Travel states that it organizes private multi-day journeys from several Moroccan cities, including Fes.

Best Time for Morocco Multi Day Tours From Fes

The best travel period depends on the regions included in your itinerary. Spring and autumn are often attractive for travelers who want to combine cities, mountains, and desert areas.

Summer can bring very high temperatures in southern Morocco. Winter, meanwhile, can bring colder conditions in the Middle Atlas and desert at night.

Therefore, check seasonal conditions before finalizing your route. Morocco’s official tourism website provides travel information covering climate, seasons, transportation, and other practical topics.

My mom and I had an amazing 10-day tour of Morocco with Tilila Travel! From the initial planning to the end of our trip, the service was exceptional. Mohammed was incredibly responsive, accommodating, and helpful throughout the planning process, and provided us with a detailed itinerary that made everything seamless. Our driver, Abdel, was wonderful—professional, respectful, and always attentive to our needs. His positive attitude made the long drives between cities enjoyable, and we always felt safe and comfortable with him. Everything was extremely well organized, from hotel check-ins to the knowledgeable English-speaking guides in each city. We truly enjoyed our experience and would highly recommend Tilila Travel to anyone visiting Morocco!

We planned our adventure to Morocco just three weeks in advance and we knew that Mohamed/Tilila Travel was the way to go from the first email response we received. It was a weekend and Mohamed got right back to us! We asked so many questions and he answered every one so we felt confident about our itinerary, our packing list and everything! From the moment our driver, Yassin, picked us up at the Marrakech airport, we know we were in the best of hands! Yassin was such an experienced driver - he knew all of the different terrains and areas we passed through - he was a goldmine of knowledge, sharing with us so much information about the different areas and cultures. He was so thoughtful, making stops along the way to show us such neat things - like the wild monkeys, the argon oil area, the Berber rug factory, the gorge, every small detail enhanced our trip! We suggested a loose itinerary to Mohamed and planned the perfect trip for us, including beautiful and special riads and fascinating tours! The camel trip and overnight in the Sahara was absolutely incredible! Thanks to Mohamed and Yassin, we enjoyed the most wonderful journey through an amazing country! Yassin is the BEST and we made a lifelong friend in him - Mohamed too (even though we didn't get to meet him in person)!

We booked a 2 day private tour to the desert and had a great experience. The organization was smooth and everything went as planned. Both Mohamed, the manager, and Abdel, our guide, did an outstanding job! I fully recommend booking with Tilila Travel 👍🏻

My wife and I travelled in Morocco in early May. We used Tililia travel through a friend suggestion. The experience was wonderful. Our driver Yousef was terrific and was there from the start to the finish. He was there to pick us up from the airport, and drop us off at the end of the trip. We had plans and activities arranged every day and had the ability to make minor changes as deemed be necessary. The guides were good. We always felt safe and never had any issues communicating as everyone spoke English. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Morocco, and Tililia travel was a large part of the reason for a wonderful vacation. I would definitely recommend them for anyone visiting Morocco.

We just finished our tour yesterday. We love our tour guide, and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this tour. The tour has great balance among culture, nature, and historical sites. Our guide is super patient, kind, and attentive. He waited for our slow walking family members. When someone needs bathroom or water stop, he finds the clean roadside restaurants/shops. We have took guided tours in different countries. Our Morocco guide is head and shoulder above all the other tour guides we had before. Above was my trip in 2019. I just went again in March 2023. The tour is well organized. Itinerary was given to us in advance. There’s no surprise. Everything went smoothly. The driver was waiting for us at the airport. He drives the whole tour, polite, helpful, and always on time. The city guide in Fez was exceptional, she tailored tour to our specific interests. The cooking class arranged by Mohammed, the owner of Tilila Tour was amazing. Every time I make those dishes, I will be thinking about this trip. It was a great memory making trip.

I was connected with Tilila travels through Rough Guides. We worked with Mohamed , the owner, on the details and he accommodated all of our changes/request and were able to create a trip based on timing, budget, duration and things we wanted to see in Morocco. Communication prior and during the trip was excellent. Our trip started off with a guided tour of Marrakech with our guide, Ibrahim, who was fantastic - helped us find some off the grid souks and gave us a unique local perspective into Marrakech and its history that we would never have received on our own. I also was not feeling too hot and he made sure to check in and make stops when needed. Our driver, Mohamed (not the tour owner), for our 9 day road trip around Morocco, was a true superstar. He made our trip such an amazing adventure, paying attention to our likes and dislikes and really took care of us like family. All of our stops (Dades Gorge, Fes, Chefchaouen, Rabat, and Casablanca) were incredible to experience and the local city guides assigned to us took it to another level. The only exception was the Sahara desert camp which just wasn’t our cup of tea, but Mohamed the owner did address our feedback which was nice. Other than that, the whole trip was amazing and we would recommend Tilila to anyone looking to visit Morocco.

My husband and I took a 9-day tour of Morocco with Tilila Travel in April 2026. Our expectations were exceeded! The company is very professional and responsive, but most importantly they were there for us every time! We felt completely safe and cared for while we traveled across the beautiful country of Morocco. I have some mobility issues, and Tilila was great about making accommodations for me. They let me pick and choose activities, and they were able to shorten some things that were too hard for me. Accommodations were beautiful and some of them were really wonderful! All of them were comfortable and our needs were always met. When my husband was hit with a GI bug, our driver took us to a pharmacy where he was able to get antibiotics and felt better quickly! Speaking of drivers, Walid was the best! Kind, patient and the best driver I ever saw. Always available and treated us so well! We LOVED our trip and would always recommend Tilila Travel!

We had a fantastic experience on this trip and really enjoyed every part of it. The itinerary through Casablanca, Rabat, Chefchaouen, Fes, the Sahara, and Marrakech was very well planned, and everything ran smoothly. All the accommodations were exactly as described—comfortable, clean, and well located. A special mention for our driver, Ali, who was friendly, punctual, and very professional throughout. He made the long drives easy and was always accommodating. The Sahara experience was a highlight—the camel ride and ATV were especially memorable. For an 8-day trip, there is naturally quite a bit of driving involved. If we were to do it again, we might consider trimming one or two stops just to allow for a slightly more relaxed pace—but overall, the itinerary was very enjoyable and well put together. Overall, the service and execution were excellent. We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking for a well-organized and memorable Morocco experience.
